NOTE: When searching for an online version of a specific journal, first use the Lamson Library electronic “Journal List”. This is a master alphabetical list (by title of journal) of all journals accessible in full text that will tell you the following:
1. whether Lamson Library has any physical copies of the journal, 2. whether the journal is available in full text electronically via any of the databases to which Lamson Library subscribes, and 3. whether we have been given direct access by the publisher to the online version of the journal.
To search this, click “Journal List” under “Find” on the Library Home Page. Then, type the TITLE of the journal in the “Find” box, and hit “Enter”.
For each journal listed, if we have physical copies of the journal in Lamson, the note “Lamson Library” will appear under the journal title. You can click on this Lamson Library link to view the record of the journal in the online library catalog. If the journal is available in full text in a database, the database name(s) will be listed, and you can click on the name of the database to be taken to the publication details for that journal in the chosen database. Included with these details will be links by year to full text articles from that journal. If the direct online version of the journal is available, you will see a link “EBSCOhost EJS” or the publisher’s name. Click this to be taken to the online journal.

- EdWeb: Exploring Technology and School Reform
- Written and produced by Andy Carvin, originally created in 1994, “EdWeb was one of the very first Websites on the Internet to examine the role of the Web in education. Over the years, EdWeb has helped thousands of people learn about the Internet as a learning tool; today, it serves as a historical example of how the Web was used in the mid-1990s, during the time when most people were just going online for the very first time.” Note: This site was last revised in January, 2004.
- Free Speech Movement (Univ. of California, Berkeley)
- The key site for primary research materials on the Free Speech Movement, one of the first protest movements to rock college campuses in the 1960s. The site is a joint effort of the Bancroft Library and the non-profit Free Speech Movement Archives. Primary documents from the FSM, the University, the UC Board of Regents, and the State of California are searchable online.
- National Education Goals Panel
- “The National Education Goals Panel (NEGP) is a unique bipartisan and intergovernmental body of federal and state officials created in July 1990 to assess and report state and national progress toward achieving the National Education Goals.” The Panel has since been dissolved “pursuant to Congressional mandate”. However, the NEGP Web site is still functional, though it is no longer being maintained. From this site, you can link to the NEGP’s new “Interactive Data Center”.

- This link is to the archived issues of this e-publication from the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD). This Web-based publication began in January, 2003 and continued until June, 2007. It provided an overview of a recent, original research study, including the research questions, data sources, and findings of the study. Later in 2007, ResearchBrief was discontinued and replaced with a monthly “What Research Says About …” column in the journal Educational Leadership.

Searching ERIC in this manner will provide information about electronic access to full text articles and provide convenient links to print holdings in the library.
- Test Reviews Online
- Use this as an online index to the Mental Measurements Yearbooks (available in print in Lamson Library, REF BF176 .B88). The full text of the reviews is NOT available for free online via Test Reviews Online. However, PSU students, faculty, staff, and alums with a PSU computer account may access the Mental Measurements Yearbook database via the MyPlymouth portal and the Library Home Page, under “Databases” at the left. This MMY database provides the full text of test reviews from the 9th Mental Measurements Yearbook (1985) to the present.
