Accessing Library Ebooks

Learn how to access ebooks from Lamson Library, and how to download them to your computer or mobile device.

Preparing to download ebooks

There are a few steps to complete before you can download ebooks to your computer, tablet, or phone.

  • Create a My EBSCOhost account
  • Create an Adobe ID (Not necessary for most tablets or phones).
  • Download software appropriate to your computer, tablet or phone.

Each of these three steps is described in detail below. Once they are complete, you can begin downloading!

Login to myEBSCOhost

You must be logged in to myEBSCOhost before you can download an ebook.

Please note: myEBSCOhost is now connected to myPlymouth to achieve single sign-on.  In other words, you can now have an EBSCO account without having to remember a separate username and password.  If you created a myEBSCOhost account before June 2017, or if you are looking to create one now, please see these important instructions.

For reading ebooks on your computer

If you're going to read the book on your desktop or laptop computer:

Adobe Digital Editions is essentially an ebook reader installed on your computer. An Adobe ID is a free user account that lets you download ebooks into Adobe Digital Editions.
