@Brad:

You're right. We're working on moving the Infotech Help Desk pages into Scriblio now and we agreed we're really missing an "Ask A Techie" page. Keep a lookout, we should have a draft up soon.

Lichen and I have identified an issue with fixed-width elements (think photos or tables) not fitting in the column width and causing problems for IE. The result is that the page content doesn't appear until far down the page, well below the fold. We're working on this.

We have Ask a Librarian..how about the Ask a Techie that is on the information desk page -- might be nice if it was in a similar fashion and if they used the same IM system.

Also, there seems to be many parts of the Information Desk page that may be able to be integrated into the larger Library web site rather than a subpage of the InfoDesk.

Finally, I noticed that Mike Cosma isn't in the staff Directory as a Shift Supervisor, in either version of the site.

Thanks!

1) OPR staff may take umbrage at the "fresh paint on the University website." Artists do.

2) The default icon when a picture of the book or video is unavailable is BORING!

3) Needs more cowbell.

@Brad Hachez:

Sorry, I should have addressed that earlier.

It's hosted at wpopac.com at this stage of development, but will move to www.plymouth.edu/library when it goes live.

Zoiks. Turns out there's a bug in Internet Explorer that I need to work around. The right sidebar is not rendering properly, pushing content and search results down on the page.

A number of people have already alerted me and I'm working on it, but until I get it fixed you might try taking a look in Firefox or Safari to see what it _should_ look like.

(Though, if you do find other browser rendering bugs, please tell me.)
