In celebration of Women’s History Month 2009, the film Taking Root: The Vision of Wangari Maathai will be shown Wednesday, March 4th at 7 pm in Boyd 144. The film relays the inspiring story of the Green Belt Movement of Kenya and it’s founder Wangari Maathai, who in 2004, became the first African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
