New Visual Stories

In the Fundamentals of Art: Color & Design course, students explored working with a narrative through the process of manipulating an existing book. Books tell written stories, facts, and fiction; therefore with the goal of altering a book the students are telling a new visual story. The books used are from discarded library books. Students visited the library and selected the discontinued book. Art students then re-purposed the books by creating altered books and works of art.  Many students used the content of the book or the title as an inspiration for the art. The Color and Design class is a freshman level foundation to art course.

These retold stories can be seen on the Main Level near the Reference Desk.
