Crime Mapping:
One of the most significant advances in the area of information technology in the criminal justice field has been crime mapping using geographic information systems (GIS). Crime mapping looks at thespatial and temporal dimensions of crime and enhances the ability of law enforcement agencies to analyze crime in the context of other social forces, such as the locations of various types of crimes, public benefit distribution, health care, and demographic patterns.
