Which Database Should I Use?

Which database indexes the most high impact factor journals in the field of criminology?

None of the databases indexes all of the high impact factor journals. 

However, the majority are covered by the following in descending order:

  1. Social Sciences Citation Index
  2. PsycINFO
  3. Sage Journals Online
  4. National Criminal Justice Reference Service Abstracts
  5. SocINDEX with Full Text

The Literature of Criminal Justice

In the box below you'll find the journal titles that represent "the literature" of Criminal Justice to which you have full-text, online access.   The journals you cite in your papers is an indication of the quality of your research.  These journals should be well represented in your bibliographies.  However, these are certainly not the only journals that you could use.  Many important studies relating to crime can also be found in sociology journals.  Impact factors change from one year to the next, but merely having an impact factor rating is a positive indication of credibility.
